I first met Lora at the Park Ranger Institute in 2016. She provided one of the sessions on building, maintenance and guidelines for horseback riding trails and stable facilities in park systems. The training was most beneficial for our purposes.
Following the conference I called on Lora numerous times to assist us on our Cedarock Equestrian Park - everything from trail development to rules and regulations to style and construction of our overall of the facilities. Her knowledge and experience were helpful in the progress of our development.

I would like to take this time to express my appreciation for the hard work Lora has provided to me and Metroparks over the years. Lora retired as a Park Ranger a few years ago. After taking some time to breathe during retirement, Lora reached out to me about coming back and serving as a seasonal maintenance worker for Oak Openings Metropark. Knowing Lora’s proven dedication and competence from her past work experience, I jumped at the idea. Lora and I sat down and developed a work plan for her where she could use her extensive equestrian background and apply it to the horse trails and rider amenities provided at Oak Openings. Beyond construction and care of those amenities, Lora also volunteered to be the liaison for local horse communities and to orchestrate volunteer opportunities to allow horse riders the opportunity to own a part of the horse-riding experience. At the time Lora worked for me, I was managing several parks including the construction of a new park so you can imagine what a positive impact Lora’s work had on my time and abilities. I struggle to find the words to explain the monumental impact Lora had on me and the Metroparks. If you are considering using her services, I strongly recommend that you do; her knowledge and integrity have benefited Metroparks and the community for over a quarter of a century.
